Pacquiao debuted as a professional at the age of 16 defeating Edmund Ignacio in four rounds via a unanimous decision. Pacquiao then won his first WBC world title by defeating Chatchai Sasakul via an 8th round knockout. Pacquiao quickly rose to fame with his incredible heart, stamina, and power. Many analysts said that he was the best boxer in the 2000s. Some of Pacquiao’s other highlights are his win against Oscar De La Hoya in 2008 and his surprising loss against Mayweather in 2015.

Pacquiao has also had an interesting career outside of the boxing ring. He has played in the Philippine Basketball Association and is currently a senator in the Philippines.

Pacquiao is looking forward to his fight against Adrien Broner and believes that he can easily beat the 29-year-old. If Pacquiao is able to defeat Broner then there is a good chance that there will be a rematch against Floyd Mayweather at some point in 2019. Broner and Pacquiao have been trash talking each other leading up to the fight and each boxer wants to prove themselves in the ring on January 19th.

It will be interesting to see if Pacquiao’s age is a determining factor in the fight. The 40-year-old has been professionally boxing for over 20 years, that certainly takes a toll on anyone’s body. Pacquiao is certainly one of boxing’s all time greats no matter what happens on January 19th.
